acupuncturist holding a Masters of Science in Acupuncture and
Oriental Medicine from The Oregon College of Oriental
Medicine, one of the top
acupuncture schools in the nation. During my time spent at OCOM, I
also completed my internship within OCOM’s community clinic and
also at Outside
In, located in downtown
Portland. Not only have I studied with many renowned Chinese
medical doctors, but I have studied and been certified by Virginia
Doran, founder of the Facial Rejuvenation
Acupuncture protocol and Shellie
Goldstein, founder of the Acufacial
protocol.
Both of which I integrate into my practice.Why Chinese Medicine?
All the time, people ask, "How I got into practicing Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture?" It's a valid question...my first inclination is to respond with a stock answer of wanting to help others. Ok, well, I think most of us are inclined to want to help others, but, I chose Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture as a means of providing a complementary form of healthcare to those of you who are not completely satisfied with conventional medicine. Speaking from personal experience, involving myself and members of my family, I wanted something more than just what the doctors had to say...it wasn't enough for me, I needed more. Hence, I went to Acupuncture school.
One particular aspect of healthcare I am concerned with are the use of prescribed medications in America today. Don't get me wrong, prescription medications have made life easier for many of us at some point and time in our life...However...there is often a down-side to such medications...their side-effects and how they may affect our quality of life. And this is where Chinese Medicine can help to offset many of these side-effects, and improve your quality of life and well-being.
Let me reiterate that I am not anti-medication or anti-conventional medicine...I'll be thankful when I need them. I am pro advocating for your own health and well-being...Pro leading a healthy optimal state of life in as many ways as you can...No one else is going to do it for you!
